Since day one I have always been team LC.  All of my Laguna Beach fans, you totally understand what I'm talking about.  If you don't though, let me give you some background.  Kristin Cavallari was on the hit MTV reality show called Laguna Beach and later appeared on The Hills.  For all intense purposes, let's pretend that this wasn't super scripted and was actually "reality."  You too would have thought that Kristin was a total capital B word.  However, time has passed and Kristin released her tell-all book.  It's not just about Laguna Beach, but also about her family, business, and life in general.

I have to say, aside from the Laguna Beach secrets that were spilled in the book, it was overall a really good read.  What I liked most about this book was the way it was set up.  Sometimes, biographies can simply be too wordy.  I really liked how Kristin had kept the text clean and the layout of the book easy to follow.  She incorporated the right amount of pictures, mixed the right fonts, and talked about all the right things.  She talked about how she balances work and family life.  She gives some great healthy recipes and some killer workouts for the busy girl to fit into her busy schedule.  She even admits how she was really immature and how she grew up and how she is even learning from her mistakes to this day.  Even her Laguna Beach chapter wasn't as dramatic as I thought it was going to be and the secrets she let out were just facts.  I must say, after seeing the other side of the story, LC isn't as innocent as she's made to be in the show.  Overall, it's a very real book.  There weren't any gimics or hidden messages, she was simple and to the point.

What's the book about?
Kristin Cavallari is best known for her mean girl role in MTV's hit reality show, Laguna Beach and The Hills.  As she got older she became a business owner, a wife, and a mother.  She tells her story in this autobiography and self-help book.  It touches on all topics; life before and after Laguna Beach, dating, exercising and healthy eating, and being a business woman.

Who would enjoy this book?
I'm not going to lie, it is definitely geared towards females.  Especially females in their twenties who are feeling sort of lost.  There were a lot of chapters where I felt connected to the words, because I am currently at that stage of my life.  You don't need to be a Laguna Beach fan to enjoy this book though, Kristin's words can relate to anyone.

Is this a self-help book?
Yes and no.  More than anything, it's an autobiography.  There are parts of the book though that has healthy recipes, workout routines, and advice for life in general.

How many chapters are about Laguna Beach and The Hills?
There's only one section that is about Kristin's reality television days, which is more than enough.  She gives background of what drama had unfolded before the show, how the producers wanted her to play the mean girl role, and how choppy the editing was.  For instance, she talks about how a fight may have happened weeks ago, but they mix it in with something that was currently happening.  Even though she dishes the dirt, she still remains grateful, because she knows without her reality tv stardom, she wouldn't be the person she is today.

What is the tone of voice in the book?
Surprisingly, very real.  It was as if I was listening to Kristin talk about her life instead of reading it.  As I said before, anyone can enjoy this book.  It's a very easy and inspiring read.
