Baublebar Gemstone Collection

I love Baublebar, it's where my mom got my nameplate necklace from and my coordinate ring. The quality of their pieces are so nice and the prices are completely reasonable too. Their Alidia Ring has surfaced a lot lately and when I checked it out for myself I instantly fell in love. I actually love this ring so much I'm considering purchasing all six shades. That's insane, but each one is just so unique.  One night I was browsing the Baublebar website and I realized that they currently have a lot of gemstone pieces out that I am obsessed with.

As I mentioned the Alidia Ring is my favorite! This collection is just so unique and different that I had to share with you all my favorite pieces from the website. If anyone still needs to get me a birthday gift, this is a great start ;)!

Current Favorite Eyeshadow Palettes

I have been really into investing into quality eye shadow palettes lately. I used to not understand how an eye shadow palette could cost more than $10, but as I started to get more into makeup I realized that not all drug store brands work as well as they say they do in the commercials. Some palettes aren't as pigmented as I would like or there is a lot of fall out and half the eye shadow ends up on my face versus on my eyes. Once I started to invest in palettes that not only get great reviews, but I like more than 70% of the colors in the palette, I realized how different my makeup looks would come together and I loved them!

As of lately there have been a handful of palettes that use the most and I wanted to share them with you today. As you can see, these palettes get a lot of use and for the past few months I have created so many different looks using these unique colors.

Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has been a staple in my routine. It's great for neutrals and transition shades, but it also creates some spectacular looks when you need a great day to night look.

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette
I got this palette in New York last year and I have used and abused this palette, let me tell you. I've noticed that I gravitate towards the pink shades in a palette, but this 6-quad eye shadow container is so pigmented, I don't think this will ever run out. I barely tap my brush on-to it and it grabs so much color. This is my favorite eye shadow to use on a night out.

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill The Vault Bling Boss Eyeshadow Palette
This is a new palette to my collection, but it's gorgeous! I always hesitate before creating a look, because I never know what colors I want to use. I wish I could use them all at once they are that pretty.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
This was a surprise in my stocking this year for Christmas. I have never owned an Urban Decay Naked Palette before, even though I know they're a staple in most makeup cases. I used it the next day and was stunned. There's little to no fall-out, it's pigmented and the shadows are creamy. They just glide on so easily and they blend out so nicely. The Naked 3 Palette is perfect for me, but I would suggest finding the one that works for you!

Perfect Your Hair Routine + GIVEAWAY With Formulate

Hey everyone! I shared with you all a few weeks ago that I recently dyed my hair. This isn't new for me, but I've never gone this blonde before. Going this blonde means that I have a lot of upkeep with this. Which means I purchased the purple toner shampoo and conditioner to lock in that color. Even though I've been loving the color, I feel that the shampoo and conditioner do lock in my color, but my hair hasn't been it's very best lately. It's not as shiny, it's more frizzy and it's definitely not as soft as it usually is. I just started to wonder if there was a hair wash that could lock in color AND keep my hair looking it's best. Enter Formulate!

I have seen a few hair care sites where you can customize your own shampoo and conditioner, but I always feel like it's so much work. Why can't I just enter a few pieces of information and get your perfect hair care? With Formulate you totally can. Taking the survey to create my own shampoo and conditioner was the easiest process ever. It took less than ten minutes and at the end of it I was given a whole recipe that showed exactly what is going into my products.

I received my products in less than a week and was extremely pleased with how aesthetic the packaging was. As I said before, the recipe of my shampoo and conditioner came in the packaging and showed everything that was in my products. My favorite part about this customization was the scent. I love tropical smelling shampoos and I got to select the coconut scent. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the scent when I opened the package for the first time. Plus, the smell lingered through the day which is a huge bonus.

I was honestly surprised at how much I loved this product right away. Most of the time I don't really notice a difference with hair products, just more of if it works or not. When I started to notice how quickly these Formulate products started to repair the damage from the dye in my hair I was shocked. I think it took about three washes for me to notice a huge difference.

I am a "night-time" shower person, especially since I go to the gym after work, I have to shower before I go to bed. After the first wash I noticed the smell right away! It even smelt amazing the next morning as I was getting ready for work. I also noticed how less frizzy my hair was (the purple shampoo & conditioner that I was using just wasn't benefiting my hair at all except for keeping the blonde in). After about the third wash was when I felt a difference in my hair. It was thicker and softer.

Again, something I didn't realize until now is that the purple shampoo and conditioned just wasn't washing my hair thoroughly. I thought it was just getting greasy from the gym, but it was more than that. It just wasn't cleaning my hair. The Formulate products weren't only washing my hair but keeping my color in it's place too. That was the most important thing to me when finding a new shampoo and conditioner because my hair was bleach blonde- I need some color protection.

My Favorite Candles

Everyone has their must-have candles for the season. I am definitely one of those people. There are certain candles that really make the home smell good and some that look cute, but not worth the buck. I refuse to pay more than $15 for a candle and it's got to be a pretty big candle at that. Between Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Bath and Body works- you have a lot of options. Here are some of my OG candles that I stock up on every year.
How I Got Rid Of Under Eye Dark Circles

I feel as though everyone is constantly testing out new ways to get rid of those dark circles or wrinkles under their eyes. Some people say beauty sleep is all you need while others follow Phoebe Buffay's wise words of putting some tea bags on them for ten to fifteen minutes to get rid of the "wisdom" that they hold. However, I have been using two (that's right, just two) products the past few months and I have seen incredible results.

The first product is super simple and I actually found it at the dollar store, but you can get one just about anywhere. It's a an eye mask that you stick in the freezer and then use when your face feels a little puffy. I put this on for just a few minutes and I see a huge difference in my face. Of course, this item is very cold so don't say I didn't warn you! On the bright side it does help me in the morning if I need a boost of energy while getting ready for work. It definitely wakes you up.

The second product is something that Omar actually got me off Amazon for Prime Day. It's the rosehip and hibiscus eye cream. I've tried different lotions and such but never saw a huge improvement. In fact, one under eye lotion even gave my skin a bad reaction and my face got really red and dry! This one though is incredible. I have seen some amazing results and even realize that I use less under eye concealer when doing my makeup. It's such a light feeling product as well. I don't feel oily after using it. It has seriously made such a huge improvement and I will be repurchasing this product over and over and over again.

If you're like me and want to de-puff and un-darken the circles under your eyes you must test out these two products. Maybe it's a combination of the two, but after I started using both of these I have noticed a really big different. Hopefully you will too!

Why Everyone Needs A 'Get Your Life Together' Day

Now that I'm an adult, as most of my readers are, it's no surprise that you have to work for a living now. Working is great! I'm actually so happy I'm done with school and starting a career of my own. Here's the thing though, you work Monday through Friday which means a lot of other things that need to get done (doctor appointments, grocery shopping, working out, etc) can start to fall by the waist side. It's important to find a work and social balance, sure, but it's also important to play hookie every now and then. I'm not saying to make this a habit, but every few months I take a PTO day to have a 'Get My Life Together Day' and you should too.

I work full-time. Which means 40 hours a week Monday-Friday. It can be exhausting after a long day and all I want to do is eat Taco Bell and curl up into bed with my dog. I understand that feeling, trust me I do. It's important to have a work and life balance though. It's not just important, it's healthy. Make time for yourself, for your family and anything else that needs to get done before bedtime.

However, sometimes things can't be done after 5 p.m. on a Tuesday. Such things like doctor's and dentist appointments, an oil change or even everyday errands that would be so much more convenient to get done during the day, but you can't get to because you're at work. Sure you could go during your lunch break or come in late that morning, but it's such a hassle. About every six months I like for all of these things to fall on the same day. I schedule all of my appointments, have a to-do list in hand and take a PTO day to quite literally 'get my life together.'

I don't postpone all of this until one major day, some of these things have to get done prior to that, but for the most part it's good to take a day (usually a Friday) to get reorganized and be productive about getting things done. You feel refreshed and ready to take on the next few months now that these adult tasks are out of the way.

I understand not everyone is in the same situation as I am and maybe this doesn't apply to you, but you need to understand if you are it's okay to take a day for your self. That's why it's called PERSONAL TIME OFF. It's personal and you need it. I get everything on my to-do list done. I go to the store, take care of Oliver, take care of myself, take care of my car, pick up dry cleaning, prescriptions, go to the gym, clean the apartment.. literally anything that needs to get taken care of it does on this day.
